Aston Martin AM37 powerboat will be available by the end of the year

The British luxury car maker and Quintessence Yachts will soon produce the Aston Martin AM37 powerboat together.

Last week, at an event at Aston Martin's headquarters in Gaydon, UK, the automaker revealed several computer renderings of what the upcoming boat will look like. The AM37 will be revealed in the flesh, to both media and prospective buyers, later this year.

Dutch boat maker Quintessence Yachts has been given a licence to produce boats in collaboration with the upper crust British sports car company. Styling and engineering for these speedboats will be handled by Quintessence and Mulder Design.

The AM37 is so named because it is 37 feet (11.3m) long from tip to tail. At launch there will be two versions of the AM37: the AM37 and the AM37 S.

According to Quintessence, the AM37 S will be capable of a top speed of 60 knots, while the AM37 will be pitched as "more of a gran turismo leisure boat with an even higher degree of luxury". Top speed for the AM37 will be 50 knots.

The Aston Martin-branded boats will be produced by Quintessence at a facility in the UK, and the boat's hull will be constructed from both carbonfibre and composite materials.

No pricing has yet been mentioned in relation to the Aston Martin AM37.
