Like a number of late model vehicles, it seems the designer of deck or trunk lids loses his talent when he/she gets to the rear of the vehicle. THE BANGLEIZED TRUNK LID ON THE 6 SERIES IS ONE OF THE MOST DISTASTEFUL PIECES OF DESIGN WORK I HAVE EVER SEEN ON A QUALITY AUTOMOBILE. It was a pathetic mistake which BMW can't and won't admit to. Those with authority to change it (whoever they may be if they actually exist) must be certified "yes men" who lack the courage to make waves. They along with other "followers" have continued to try and make the BMW enthusiast and lost potential BMW buyers accept the design. Well, it hasn't worked folks, and until you admit it and change it, the design of the 6 series will never be an equal to the beauty of earlier 6 designs.

While on the subject of rearend designs-----I hope the new owners of Jaguar will remove that stupid, cheap looking, stuck on spoiler of the XK. (or at least make it optional)--------- And you designer guys at GM-----Remove that dumb glitzy looking spoiler from the decklid of the CTS and other Cadillac models. Spoilers have their place in design but not on the XK or Cadillac.

Classy autos like Ferrari etc don't interupt the flow of the decklid design with "humps" "bumps" or spoilers.

Looks like those first three comments were placed by old fogey's who haven't a clue about style. I love the aggressive shark looking front end to my black 6 Series, all my friends love it - and more importantly, as do the ladies! Some people never appreciate style and substance even if it hit them in the face. I could understand these comments on some other cars in the BMW series, but NOT on the 6 Series - clearly these people are haters!

The E63/E64 BMW 6 series is the most stylish BMW coupe/convertible amongst the new generation of BMW cars. Most of the new generation cars are not entirely photogenic, however, when seen in the metal, they are striking.

As for the three readers above who described the 6 series as "ugly", clearly they lack any sense of modern, forward looking direction on car styling. They are probably envious of BMW car machines in general and have never appreciated these awesome driving machines at the cutting edge of automotive engineering and dynamic styling.

Just like how the 1 series looks like they got some fat bastard to sit on the sides of the car. This looks like they brainstormed on how they could make it different. Then someone came up with the idea of moving the fat bastard to the front of the car. Making them sit, then get up.

Summing up.... FUGLY
