2015 Subaru Impreza prices drop, new equipment added

The new Impreza model has seen further price drops over the changes announced earlier this year following the Free Trade Agreement, effectively meaning the price of entry into the Subaru small car range has dropped $1000 since December.

As such, the entry-level Impreza 2.0i is now priced at $22,990 driveaway in six-speed manual guise, while the continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatic is now $24,990 driveaway.

Drops have also been seen on the mid-range model (previously known as 2.0i-L, now known as 2.0i Premium) and top-spec 2.0i-S.

The 2.0i Premium is priced at $21,400 plus on-road costs for the manual version and $23,400 plus on-road costs for the CVT version, while there has been a big drop on the 2.0i-S, which now comes in at $27,400 plus on-road costs for the standard CVT (making for a drop of $3090 since January, or $3590 since December).

The facelifted Impreza small car sees a range of specification changes, including a revised interior with new touchscreen media systems across all models. The entry-level models (2.0i and 2.oi Premium) get a 6.2-inch media screen, while the 2.0i-S has a 7.0-inch media screen with satellite navigation.

The base model remains unavailable with a reverse-view camera despite most rivals offering the potentially life-saving technology as standard, while mid- and top-spec models have the system standard.

The newly added 2.0i Premium model is expected to become the bulk seller for Subaru, and as well as the reverse-view camera it adds leather trimmed seats and steering wheel and fog-lights over the base variant. It also gains new-look 16-inch alloy wheels.

Both the 2.0i Premium and 2.0i-S see an upgraded transmission shifter surround on CVT models, and silver stitching instead of black on leather-covered surfaces.

The top-spec model also has a standard sunroof, a new multi-information display unit, boot lip spoiler, and an additional USB input.

Changes to the exterior of the car include a new grille, revised headlight assemblies and a new-look fog-light cluster. The sedan model also gets chrome window trim and a new rear bumper diffuser.

There have been no changes the drivetrains on offer, with the 2.0-litre 'boxer' horizontally-opposed four-cylinder engine still producing 110kW and 196Nm, with power sent to all four wheels. Fuel consumption remains at 7.1 litres per 100 kilometres for the manual models and 6.8L/100km for CVT versions.
