Uber Safe Breathalyser aims to prevent drink-driving

"You drink, we drive." That's the slogan Uber is using to promote a campaign around its car sharing business, with an aim to curb the number of drink-driving accidents.

A video released by Uber shows Canadian pub-goers testing their sobriety after midnight in Toronto, with the Uber Safe Breathalyser hailing a car and the company footing the bill for the ride home

The breathalyser box was reportedly pieced together by ad agency Rethink and design company Stacklab, and like those old blow-in boxes you used to find in pubs all over the place, it requires testers to blow through a straw for six seconds. If you're above the legal limit, the high-tech kiosk requests an Uber for you.

"We want to ensure a safe, reliable and affordable ride home is available to everybody, especially late at night when drunk driving is most common and can be avoided," said Uber Toronto's general manager, Ian Black.
