Interesting turn of events.

General Motors filed for the use of Cadillac and Chevrolet products to be utilised under Sect. 11 for the new company, ‘New General Motors’. There was no mention of the Australian subsidiary or any manifestations there of.

The green is reflective of current US environmental policy and consumer trends. Where is that diesel they could have developed over past years, or the evolutionary mode of the EV-1? The US tax-payer is bound to pay out much more in support of the New GM in context of fleet sales and alike if it is to survive and past notions of GM. can not be readily carried over.

If I were to ponder the purchase of any product under the Holden banner one of my major considerations would be who will be liable for warranty claims in two years time…Kim Jong-il’s chauffeur perhaps, or Kev ‘07 Motors?

Yes, but its down to your business model. If Mr A needs to sell 1000 cars per month to make a profit than 1200 is a good month.

If Mr B needs to sell 5000 per month to make a profit than 4000 is bad news.

GM’s huge manufacturing overhead means they need big numbers.

I agree they will need some new and improved highly profitable products to get there. But they based their model on gas guzzling SUV’s & Trucks. Even the Volt is a loss maker for at least 5 years (According to GM). Americans are now in the market for small and efficient cars.

So when GM are out of Bankruptcy, they won’t be out of trouble regardless of what colour or color their logo is.

I say YES! (as the rush of negative votes commence) Why?

Because people (especially Americans) believe what they are told. EG: All food manufacturers need to do to increase sales is to put “lite” or “No-Fat” on their packaging. Don’t worry about the chemicals they use to replace the “fatty” stuff will kill you just as fast!

But if you tell people the cars are “green” enough times most will believe it and a green GM logo is all about marketing wether we like it or not.

The ‘Great seal’ being the US Goverment logo (the round one with a Eagle on it) should be watermarked over the top of the GM logo and it fades it off as GM repay? their loans. A prominent loan repayment counter should be installed on the fixed GM business signs.

They should change the whole logo while they’re at it, looks like a toy company logo.

Captain, whilst we have team red & team blue in Aus. red would never work because GM need to distance themselves from Toyota.
Maybe they could go for Gold – to represent what the US Govt has paid to get it out of the sheeet.

(And yew, I did understand your symbolism)
