Uber adds supercar fleet in Singapore

Forget climbing into a clapped-out cab next time you visit Singapore - Uber has just added a number of supercars to its fleet in the south-east Asian city state.

The company - which has been embroiled in controversy after several high profile cases of driver misconduct - has teamed up with partner supercar rental company Dream Drive.

Uber users can choose between a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder or Maserati GranTurismo coupe when using the Uber smartphone app. The rates are, as you'd expect, a little higher than standard.

The Lamborghini costs S$200 ($187) to hire, with 15 minutes free and then S$7 ($6.55) for every minute thereafter. The Maserati is slightly better value, at S$165 ($154) for the first 15 minutes, then the same amount for every minute extra.

The cars are available from Monday-Sunday from 10am-9pm until May 20, 2015.
