Honda S660 photographed undisguised in production trim in Japan

The Honda S660 has been photographed completely undisguised and in final production form on a Japanese dock.

These photos were initially posted Japanese website Minkara and show production vehicles fresh from the factory awaiting transport.

On the outside, apart from the addition of door handles, very little seems to have changed in the transition from the 2013 concept car to production vehicle.

The interior of the production car is, however, quite radically different to the 2013 concept. Gone is concept car's aircraft-style steering wheel and glossy touchscreen, which extended from the centre tunnel up to the top of the dashboard.

Gone too are the contrasting patches of soft-touch material, replaced by tough plastic and silver coloured accents. The all-digital instrument pack has been junked, at least on the model pictured here, in favour of a physical tachometer coupled with at least one LCD to left and one in the centre.

The car pictured here is fitted with a six-speed manual transmission, and rides on 16-inch alloy wheels clad in 195/45 rubber.

Honda has yet to release any official information about the car, but the vehicles seen here are badged S660, making it likely that they're powered by a 660cc turbocharged petrol engine.

The 2013 concept vehicle was motivated by a 660cc turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 47kW of power and 104Nm of torque. Earlier rumours indicated that export versions will be fitted with a meatier 1.0-litre turbo.

A report in Response last year indicated that the production of the S660 has been outsourced to Yachiyo Industry, which not only produces various kei cars for Honda, but also made the S660's spiritual predecessor, the Beat.
