2015 Skoda Octavia Scout 4×4 pricing and specifications

The 2015 Skoda Octavia Scout 4x4 has arrived in Australia with a sharp $32,990 plus on-road costs starting price, lowering the rough-and-tumble wagon’s entry point by $7000.

The 110TDI manual diesel kicks off the second-generation Octavia Scout 4x4 range with its sights set on tempting buyers out of low- to mid-grade medium SUVs, as well as stealing sales from the new Subaru Outback, which starts $2500 higher.

Sitting above the 110TDI are the two Premium spec variants, the 132TSI DSG petrol at $38,590 and the 135TDI DSG diesel at $41,390, positioned in the thick of the action between Outback variants as well as countless SUV rivals.

It’s the first time Skoda Australia has offered multiple engines in its Octavia Scout line-up. The 2.0-litre diesels both offer power and torque gains over their predecessor while claiming 13 per cent better fuel economy, while the 1.8-litre turbo petrol is brand new to the line-up and expected to represent 50 per cent of sales.

The Octavia Scout 4x4 may be 13cm shorter than the Outback, measuring 4685mm from nose to tail, but the Czech wagon’s 588-litre boot betters its Japanese rival by 76L. With the rear seats pushed forward, load space increases to 1718L.

All Scouts come with the new Haldex 5 all-wheel-drive system, electronic differential lock, 31mm of extra ride height over the regular Octavia wagon, black plastic body cladding, front and rear metal scuff plates, and unique interior styling elements.

Equipment highlights of the entry diesel include 17-inch alloy wheels, auto headlights and wipers, tinted windows, reverse-view camera, rear parking sensors, nine airbags, fatigue detection system, Leather-wrapped steering wheel, handbrake and gear lever, and a 5.8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming, voice control, USB and AUX inputs, SD card slot and eight speakers.

The Premium grade adds an auto tailgate, heated and folding side mirrors, silver roof rails and side mirrors, chrome window frames, privacy glass, aluminium pedals, dual-zone climate control, Leather-/alcantara-appointed upholstery, heated front seats, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and two SD card slots.

The $4400 Premium pack effectively allows 110TDI buyers to spec their Scout like a Premium variant, matching the features of the high-grade variants, while the Tech pack ($3300 for the 135TDI, $3900 for the others) adds a host of comfort and advanced driver assist systems.

Coinciding with the launch of the Octavia Scout 4x4, Skoda Australia has also announced the impending introduction of the Skoda Choice guaranteed future value program, which will fix the future value of vehicles financed with Skoda based on agreed ownership duration and mileage terms. Skoda Choice will be available across all model lines in the range from about May.
