Toyota Corolla Nurburgring edition celebrates seventh-place finish in 24-hour race

Not quite in the mould of the hardcore Lexus LFA Nurburgring edition from the Japanese car maker’s luxury division (indeed, it’s probably in closer company with the likes of the Ford Laser Carla Zampatti and Nissan Pulsar Reebok), the Corolla Nurburgring edition builds on the existing ESport version of the compact sedan available in the southeast Asian market, adding a number of visual enhancements along with subtle suspension tweaks.

The Toyota Corolla Nurburgring edition gets a black front grille, deeper front bumper, chunky side skirts and matching rear bumper panels, black diffuser panel, black and silver 17-inch alloy wheels, a black and white rear spoiler, and Nurburgring 24-hour stickers above the front wheel arches.

The Nurburgring edition is available with White Pearl or Black Mica body paint.

The cabin benefits from black leather upholstery and red highlights across the dashboard, door panels and floor mats.

There are no changes under the bonnet, where the Corolla Nurburgring edition teams its standard 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an automatic continuously variable transmission, and sends drive to the front wheels.

The Toyota Corolla Nurburgring special edition (perhaps fittingly) goes on sale in Thailand on April 1.
