Those airbags go off quite late, even when comparing to Corolla and Camry. They’re almost not fully inflated when the dummies are already being thrown forward and the bonnet is already half crumpled. Strange.

How come the drivers airbag was the last one to come out despite the fact the drivers front side suffered the most impact compared to the passenger side? Shouldnt they come out the same time?
does the Aurion come with side airbags as well? Can we see some footage? Another thing ive noticed is the side mirrors came off easy compared to other crash test brands. Im curious if Honda can better this crash test battery.

Id say its normal… they have all these different versions now like ‘dual stage’ airbags and all that, and the point of it is to stop your head from meeting steering wheel… which is does effectively. And dont forget that footage is sloooooooooooooooooown down big time, it all happens very quickly.

As for side mirrors lol, ummm your car has been totalled I dont think it matters they came off…

Well hopefully all cars can prevent any passengers or drivers head to meet the steering wheel…

these car crash test not only shows how efficient the air bags prevent further injuries, but in a way it can also show how manufacturers give detail on how sturdy/tough they build parts of a car. For instance, notice how the “side mirrors” came off on some cars on some crash test.. i know it doesnt matter that they came off coz the car is totally wrecked, or i know ill sound petty about this but still… little details like these tell me how tough parts are built.

Maybe there is a reason behind the side mirrors being like that… so if you clip someone it will give way rather then the pedestrian! Thats an out their assumption, but so is yours abit…. coming to a dead stop in milliseconds from 60km/h is far greater then any force that will be accidently exerted on the side mirro (if your implying it may break or something). Also may also consider the Aurion and others have indicators in the side mirror, so that may make them weaker. Anyway all these add up.

Terrible Toyota! The airbag of the drivers side took so long to inflate. Shocking!
