2009 Hyundai iX35 crossover SUV spied
The successor to the current Hyundai Tucson has been spied yet again near the Nurburgring, this time with a name, with the new model likely to be called the iX35.
Displayed in Geneva in concept guise as the HED-6, the production iX35 will be ready for its official launch later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Featuring the jointly developed Hyundai-Kia automatic stop-start technology, the new crossover SUV will be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine developing 130kW.
This will be mated to an all-new six-speed automatic transmission delivering power to all four wheels.
A diesel powerplant from Hyundai's new R-engine range should also feature in the new generation line-up which should produce 137kW and 400Nm.
