2015 Ford Everest spotted in production trim
With the release date of the 2015 Ford Everest closing in, freshly leaked images continue to flood in as the car maker prepares to begin full-scale production of the upcoming full-size SUV.
These latest images - published on a Vietnamese automotive website - show what appears to be a high-specification Ford Everest in right-hand-drive production trim.
Finished in a light blue colour, the Everest seen here features front and rear parking sensors, along with side parking sensors.
Side parking sensors are often used for semi-automatic parking, along with blind-spot detection. Bi-xenon headlights with washers also appear to be fitted to this high-specification vehicle.
The Ford Everest will launch with Ford's Sync 2 multimedia system that brings with it a host of features, some of which are currently seen in the latest FG-X Ford Falcon.
These features include digital radio, satellite navigation and WiFi hotspots within the car for ease of connectivity.
Under the bodywork, the Everest retains the Ranger’s front suspension, but switches a leaf-sprung rear-end for a solid rear axle with coil springs and a Watts linkage. The Everest also gets four-wheel disc brakes, instead of the commercial pickup's rear drums.
As confirmed by Ford last year, Everest was benchmarked against other serious four-wheel drives such as the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Mitsubishi Pajero and Nissan Patrol.
The Ford Everest goes on sale later this year and is expected to be priced from $45,000 – $50,000.
