Mark Webber returns to Albert Park in a Porsche 918 Spyder

Australian Formula One racing driver, Mark Webber, will return to the Albert Park circuit for the first time since his retirement in 2013 — driving a Porsche.

Mark Webber will pilot the hybrid Porsche 918 Spyder supercar on a series of demonstration laps around the Albert Park Grand Prix circuit.

The combination of a 447kW petrol V8 engine and 115kW rear- and 95kW front-axle electric motors, give the carbon fibre supercar a whopping combined 657kW output.

Webber will showcase the electric E-Power mode of the 918 Spyder and work up through the various running programs to the peak 'Race Hybrid' configuration for a full-pace lap.

Only 918 examples of the German supercar have been produced, and as of Christmas 2014... they are all sold.

Mark Webber and the Porsche 918 Spyder will be on track at the 2015 Australian Formula One Grand Prix at 11.35am on Saturday March 14.
