Don’t hold your breath, most likely candidates for purchasing car companies are Chinese manufactures.

At the end of the day not many big companies are fully Australian, its more a case of having a good management team which understand the local market and keeping jobs here.

i could recommend to anyone following the gm/america saga to watch a doco screening on austar now.its called I.O.U.S.A. and is a scary look at the total us economy.if it’s right,then there are far bigger problems facing the u.s. than a couple of chapter 11’s.

holden aust is doing it tough at the moment.no surplus stock has been made this year.all orders are 2-3 mths wait time,added to which they cannot bring in enough imported stock to satisfy demand.july/august could be very lean indeed…

The best outcome would be a total liquidation of GM. Then they would be gone forever and the auto industry would be better by far. The billions that have and will be wasted on them is a tragedy and a will be like pissing money against a wall…..a total waste.
