Since joining the X3 line-up in 2008 the 2.0-litre diesel powered xDrive20d has comprised more than 70 per cent of all X3 sales.

The milestone vehicle features BMW’s latest EfficientDynamics technology endowing it with an impressive fuel consumption figure of just 6.7 litres per 100 kilometres.

The X3 xDrive20d is currently the most fuel efficient premium compact all-terrain vehicle on Australian roads and is priced from $62,200.

Whats with the photo, do they get a free child as a gift or something?

Shouldn’t they both be wearing glasses?

X3s are surely the ugliest AWDs around (with the exception of Ssangyong).

  4. nobody says:

It’s a very ugly car and heard it has a rough ride as well. I don’t know why you’d take this over a Freelander 2. However X1 looks to have fixed some of the ride issues, actually looking forward to seeing that. Surely would mean BMW will improve the next X3 too.

  5. UR far too snobby Alex says:

It would make a really good paddock basher, might even improve the looks.I dont miss BM or nutjob (0)(0)

  6. Ben Richards says:

so BMW managed to sell this to 6000 morons??? incredible!

  7. Alex says:

    Love the name ^^^

I think the X3 has had a lot of the original problems sorted so I suppose this is deserved. I know the build quality and ride have been sorted but I can’t figure out why anybody would get the M Sport pack because that would surely ruin the ride. The 2.0 Diesel is the only one that makes sense as far as pricing goes compared to the X5.
I would rather a Freelander 2 but I will say that the X3 does handle well and better than it’s competitors.

  8. David says:

It’s a CR-V with a BMW badge on it. Wait, except it lacks the Honda build quality. When I pull up to one at the lights my CR-V is actually bigger (or at least seems that way). The only real advantage is the 3.0L 6-cylinder (but then, you can get a V6 RAV4 so that rules that out).

  9. D says:

Speaking of the CRV, now that has to be the ugliest suv going around. It has that stupid front on it and an ugly interior.

  10. zero says:

no..with the price i pay for the CRV, i would vote x3 to be the ugliest suv around

  11. Acfsambo says:

Anyone who buys an X3/5 is just endangering others who cant afford to buy a bigger car or dont need a bigger car, all just to feel all high and mighty.

  12. Elitist says:

All that picture tells me is “fail”…

This kid will grow up with a dad who couldn’t afford a real BMW so opted for a cheap one just to say he drives a BMW…

    Poor kid…

  13. Pops says:

The X3 actually isn’t a bad SUV option but the fact its car seat anchor points are located 1/3rd of the way back on the boot floor is downright ridiculous & completely impractical.

  14. Brigitte says:

Did you think that the car was for the dad! Dad can afford anything I am sure. It’s for the mum obviously. Some people don’t like driving large cars, hence the smaller version. Every manufacturer has a large and smaller version of an SUV – even in the affordable brands. It is personal choice and obviously in this case it is about safety. X3 has out done any SUV in its class every time. It’s about driving something you like. Each to their own.

  15. decks says:

are the enjoyment of owning a BMW X3, love it and nothing compares to it … for all those CRV ( Japanese Car owners )mmmmmmm smell of jealousy … keep dreaming …
