Special edition Clio and Mégane World Series by Renault for UK
June 27, 2009 by George Skentzos
Renault has unveiled the new special edition World Series Clio and Mégane which are soon to be available exclusively for the UK market.
Due to be unveiled at the World Series by Renault spectacular at Silverstone, the World Series by Renault special editions add aggression to the more frugal models in the range.
Based on the most popular Dynamique trim level in the Clio, the World Series by Renault version adds an extended front spoiler, side skirts, a sports rear bumper plus WSR badging.
While the Mégane Hatch and Coupé World Series versions add an extended front spoiler, side skits, sports rear bumper, rear spoiler, WSR badging and 17-inch alloy wheels.
From the Clio range, customers can choose from the 1.2 16V 75, the highly efficient TCe 100 or the frugal dCi 86 engines while the Mégane World Series by Renault variants are available as either the 1.6 16V 110 or the dCi 106, both with a six-speed gearbox.
While these special edition models most likely won’t find their way into Australian showrooms, the photos were too good to pass up.

I have never been much into Renaults, but that new Megane hatch back looks very cool. No mistaking its intentions. Good on them for dreaming up a unique design, not derivative styling.
I also like what Renault have done with the Megane. The Clio too, is a very nice piece of kit and both handle superbly.
Living in Australia as a car enthusiast or motoring journalist really sucks. We are reduced to experiencing all the new and really cool stuff on the internet or TV. The light at the end of the tunnel is that as the Australian population becomes more diverse in culture our buying attitude changes. This change will hopefully become so strong the manufactures will be convinced Australia is worth investing in. Here’s hoping.
Aussies don’t want sophisticated designs, they want mad max cars with bolt on “go harder” parts.
Renault did such an awesome design on these cars. Looks really cool, it makes me see this model in a new light.
They would have a hard time selling those in Aust (and the US) and you all know why.
I agree with Elitist, which is a shame. I want Renault to do well in Australia so bad but it seems things are only gettingworse for them. What if the new Mégane doesn’t evcen get a chance to get it’s (now smaller) ass over here?
Hi renault, this is Alfa Romeo Calling, can you please give us back the stolen plans for our new mito pleaseee…which you obviously have…..
