2015 Ford Ranger photographed pre-launch, again

Another day, another round of updated 2015 Ford Ranger images…

Once again captured in Thailand where they are built, these images — found on image-hosting site Imgur and sent to us by reader Mat — show a range of variants in a range of colours.

Due in Australia in the second half of 2015, likely during the third quarter, the revised version of Ford’s Australian-developed Ranger brings tweaked frontal styling and a modernised cabin with Ford’s touchscreen-based Sync 2 multimedia system.

The Ranger’s headlights appear similar to the Everest SUV’s (due shortly after the Ranger), hugging the ute’s new hexagonal chrome grille that continues into its bumper that looks bolder than before.

The Ranger is expected to benefit from some of the refinements and technologies developed for the Everest too, including engine and automatic transmission updates.

It is the fifth time we have come across 2015 Ranger shots online this year. Ford also released an official teaser last November.

Interest in the ute is also at an all-time high from punters, given sales grew more than 20 per cent in 2014 and took the Ranger to second place in its segment behind the Toyota HiLux. The Ranger is easily Ford’s top-selling model in Australia, and in October it outsold the Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo and Falcon combined.
