2015 Kiwanis All Ford Day Geelong
CarAdvice hit the road to Geelong (an hour out of Melbourne) to check out the 24th annual Kiwanis All Ford Day. Fittingly, we saddled up in the 2015 Ford Falcon FGX XR8 for the short drive.
Nestled amongst the surrounds of the Deakin University Waurn Ponds campus, the sunny weather afforded a huge turn out at the event.
Despite the impending closure of Ford's local manufacturing operation in 2016, the mood was upbeat and palpable on Sunday.
Punters were invited to bring their own car to the event and display it for judging and public enjoyment.
Included in the display were things like the new Ford Mustang, older V8 Supercars, modified street cars, mint-condition Falcon GTs and even mobile boom-boxes.
It was surprising to see the level of interest in Ford's latest XR8. A small crowd grew to have a look and listen of Ford's latest — and last — 335kW supercharged V8 offering.
