Infiniti QX30 Concept teased ahead of Geneva reveal

The Infiniti QX30 Concept will make its debut at this year's Geneva motor show at the beginning of March.

When the QX30 Concept is revealed in the flesh in just under a month's time, it will be the first solid clue as to the look of the production Infiniti QX30 SUV.

Along with its Q30 hatchback sibling, the QX30 will be one of the fruits of the collaboration between Nissan and Mercedes-Benz. Both vehicles will be based on the same front- and all-wheel-drive MFA platform that underpins the A-Class, B-Class, CLA-Class and GLA-Class.

The look of the Q30 hatch was previewed by the Q30 Concept that debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. Late last year our spy photographers spotted a heavily camouflaged version of a pre-production Q30 undergoing testing.

It's expected that the Q30 hatchback will begin rolling down the production line at Nissan's Sunderland plant in the UK from late this year, and will reach Australian showrooms sometime in 2016.

The QX30 SUV should then enter production during 2016 before appearing on the local market in 2017.

Former Infiniti president Johan de Nysschen told Autocar last year that the brand decided to outsource the engineering of the Q30 and QX30 to Mercedes-Benz as it needed "a new model in Europe fast", and that by going with this arrangement development time would be cut in half.
