Morgan releases Geneva teaser: Aero Coupe, Supersports replacement likely

British car maker Morgan has released a shadowy teaser image of a new model that's set to launch at next month's Geneva motor show.

Revealed on the Morgan Motor Company Facebook page, the teaser shot shows a similar light and grill to that of the current Aero Coupe or Aero SuperSports, however the classic marque remains tightlipped on details at this stage, saying only: "We look forward to sharing more information about the car with you all over the next few weeks."

Though the new Morgan is yet to be confirmed, CarAdvice has learned that the current Aero Coupe or Aero SuperSports (pictured below) are due to cease production in April, suggesting near perfect timing for the launch of a replacement.

Sharing the Aero models' all-aluminium chassis, the Plus 8 is expected to continue on as is.

Weighing 1175kg and 1180kg (dry) respectively, the Aero Coupe and SuperSports are both powered by a 270kW/490Nm 4.8-litre BMW V8 engine and cost between $274,990 and $339,990.

The new Morgan is due to be unveiled on press day at the Geneva show on March 3 before the public gets a chance to get up close and personal on March 5.
