2008 Ford Falcon Ute Video
While our spy photographer is taking a break, rest assured that the general public are not!
The guys over at FordForums recently obtained video footage of two 2008 Ford Falcon Orion utes undergoing public testing in Melbourne. It’s clear that the evaluation utes are fitted with steel trays to disguise design elements of the final product.

Is it just me, or did it look like it had full on chrome/black wheels?
The video got a bit of a laugh out of me. Didn’t seem safe at all though, pull over in front of them in heavy traffic. Crazy stuff.

Holdens was a dual-cab and not a extra cab
Holden did do a p/rick of a job, no question there.
Ford Oz are now the design team for next generation Japper/Mazda ute, i think they can do a great job!

Agreed, but if Holden couldn’t do a dual cab with proper rear seats, how would Ford do an extra cab with real seats?
I really can’t wait to see orion naked…

Did You Know That Holden Does Not Acaully Manufacture There Own Engine. They Pay Nissan For The Engine So They Make More Money By Saving and Making Profit. They Have Use The Nissan Engine For Decades and They Copied The BMW for the VE Commordore.

Good one Ford, we need those type of utes
(Report)
September 20th, 2007 at 8:23 am
Hey Ford Australia, those trucks in the video should be for a RTV type. You need a ute that does not have a separate tray that gets used for the XR & FPV range and have IRS like the VE ute. But it looks like Holden dont have a separate tray ute to take on this falcon other than the Rodeo.

Uncle Eddy,
Where did you get all that information of that holden use nissan engines! I reckon you are making crap up!
(Report)
December 29th, 2007 at 4:21 pm
Holden did use Nissan engines for the VK-VL models, but they don’t anymore.

Thany You OZ.,
For more specific information more than uncle Eddy!, because Uncle Eddy said Holden still use Nissan Engines!
(Report)
December 29th, 2007 at 4:32 pm
He said…”They(Holden)Have Use The Nissan Engine For Decades” that’s total BS, It was only the last I6 engine Holden used which was a nissan motor. After that the V6 was a Buick NOT A NISSAN.
(Report)
December 29th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
Well he did not say it Oz, read what he said!
(Report)
December 29th, 2007 at 5:33 pm
Uncle Eddy said “They Pay Nissan….” to indicate present tense - that is Holden still use Nissan Engines.
not “They PAID Nissan….” to indicate past tense.
Holden USED the Nissan Engine and Driveline [Diff etc] for the VK-VL only.. Before that it was the old red motor from the VB-VH the and for the VN-VZ they used the old Buick based V6
Where as the Alloytech V6 in the current VE is built at the new facility in Melbourne alongside the various 2.0; 2.2; 2.5; 3.0; 3.2 litre 4 and 6 cylinder engines the HEC export to other countries/car companies - mostly GM
