Lamborghini Aventador SV caught on photo shoot

The forthcoming Lamborghini Aventador SV (SuperVeloce) has been spied in production-ready guise during a shoot for a promotional video.

Snapped entirely free of camouflage by Borja Perez for CarAdvice in southern Europe, the images uncover the insane exterior of the Aventador SV a month ahead of its anticipated unveiling at next month's Geneva motor show.

The Aventador becomes the latest Lamborghini to earn the SV badge, following the likes of the Miura, Diablo and Murcielago.

Its aggressive aerodynamics package features black carbonfibre panels for the front air intakes, lower spoiler and side skirts. The theme continues at the rear, with carbonfibre embracing the massive rear wing, bumper panels, and slatted diffuser, the latter hugging the SuperVeloce's four centrally positioned exhaust outlets.

As with previous SV variants, Lamborghini is expected to extract more power from the 'standard' Aventador's 515kW/690Nm 6.5-litre V12, potentially pushing it up towards 550kW.

Reports also suggest the Aventador SV will be up to 100kg lighter than the base car, which tips the scales at 1575kg.

The extra power and reduced weight will cut time out of the Aventador's 0-100km/h sprint (currently 2.9 seconds), potentially dipping to 2.8sec or lower. Drive will continue to be sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission.

With the Aventador coupe priced from $761,500 and the roadster from $795,000 in Australia, expect the Aventador SV to be close, if not over, the $1,000,000 mark.
