Video: Track-only Zonda R on public roads

June 20, 2009 by George Skentzos

Updated: Another higher-quality video has been found, take the jump for a better look.

Despite being created as a track-only homage to the first generation of Zonda hypercars, one example of the exquisite Zonda R has been filmed on public roads in Modena near Pagani headquarters.

The sound from the highly-tuned AMG-sourced 6.0-litre V12 engine is simply epic, it really is a shame this will likely be the first and last time one will ever see the light of day on a public road.

and then i got the strange question pass through my head… “what would you prefer?”

…..and i honestly could not answer it! Is this an indictment on Megan, the Zonda, or a complement for both?

maybe the moral to my story is: Perfection is sometimes painfully unatainable, and ruins the reality for most mere mortals such as us…

here is a poem i made up just for the occasion lol
“do not wish to have what you cannot hold, for you may spend a lifetime chasing a dream that will never be fortold”

If I was eligible to enter the win a supercar drive competition my entry would probably read: “Hoons in Europe: Zonda R, hoons in Australia: Holden Commodore, need I say more?”

That thing must be so highly strung. Sounds better than a Carrera GT. Lets see more of this engine, MB!

Love the sound of that engine!
It certainly beats the sound of the bogan V8s I hear around my neighbourhood.
If that short exhibition happened in Australia, more so in Victoria, the driver would likely receive the death penalty!
