2015 Ssangyong Rexton update revealed

The 2015 Ssangyong Rexton has been released in its home market with revised front-end styling, an updated cabin and an expanded equipment list.

New to the MY15 version of the South Korean car maker’s flagship model is its vertical-slat chrome grille, HID projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and its alloy wheel design.

The 2015 Rexton’s cabin gets a much neater multi-function steering wheel, a revised centre console, heated and ventilated front seats, and LED lamps.

The 2015 Ssangyong Rexton is otherwise unchanged, continuing with its existing mechanical package that includes 2.0- and 2.7-litre diesel and 3.2-litre petrol engines, six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmissions, and four-wheel drive, depending on the market.

Australia’s version of the Rexton comes exclusively with the 115kW/360Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, and can be ordered with either transmission.

Ssangyong’s Australian distributor Ateco Automotive told CarAdvice the updated seven-seat SUV wouldn’t make its way to our shores until 2016, and said it was too early to talk about what new features could be offered in our model.

The Ssangyong Rexton is currently priced from $37,990 driveaway as a manual and $39,990 driveaway with the auto.
