2015 Renault Master : Pricing and specifications for expanded range with new twin-turbo engines

The new 2.3-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine with fuel-saving stop-start technology finds its way under the bonnet of all manual variants of the 2015 Master range.

Entry-level L1H1 front-wheel-drive variants are equipped with a 100kW/340Nm tune of the engine, while all other lengths, heights and body styles get the more powerful 120kW/360Nm version.

Master models optioned with Renault’s ‘QuickShift’ automated six-speed transmission continue with the 110kW/350Nm single-turbo engine.

Renault says the six new variants push the 2015 Master into new segments of the market. Added to the range is a FWD van suitable for conversion to a passenger bus; a FWD platform-cab suitable for body-builders and converters; and a new 4.5-tonne GVM enhanced-payload rear-wheel-drive L3H2 long-wheelbase van, which Renault claims is ideal for refrigeration conversions.

The 2015 Renault Master’s safety package has been upgraded to include hill start assist, Renault Grip Xtend for enhanced traction on soft ground, and trailer swing assist for better control when towing.

A wide-view mirror in the passenger sun visor also claims to improve rear visibility and reduce left-side blind spots.

Renault has also improved the optional Pro and Premium packages for the Master van, cab-chassis and window van models. The latter, for example, costs $2490 and includes driver and passenger side airbags, auto headlights and wipers, foglights, climate control, rear window demister, cornering double optic headlights, hands-free key, storage compartment under passenger bench, integrated TomTom satellite navigation, reverse-view camera, and addition door and storage compartments.
