Tony, thanks for a great story and review of Le Mans – looking forward to the full review of the DBS Volante.

This is a truly wonderful result for Aston Martin. Although they did not win the LMP1 class outright – they were the highest placed and fastest petrol race car for the entire 24hrs. Not only that – they beat a large number of diesel powered race cars on the way to their 4th position. The race package proved fantasticly reliable and fast which is great credit to the team given that the engine comes from the road cars….. unlike those that finished in front of them. Not a bad effort for no more than 8 months R&D and the limited budget. Look out in 2010!!

The result is reflective of the Lola chassis.

For a podium Aston will not only again have to access Lola for the chassis, but also need big budget R&D for TDI.

Otherwise just delegated an ankle biter.
