New Mazda 2 Video

By Alborz Fallah |

Here is some driving footage of the new 2008 Mazda2. The car which has moved away from the current Mazda2′s styling to a more, Toyota Yaris look alike, will arrive in Australia in October.

You can find more information on the Mazda 2 here

Thanks to MotorAuthority for the Video.

Certainly a big improvement on the current model which is imposter of a Mazda.

More new Ford Fiesta than Toyota Yaris i think and it probably shares most of its underpinnings as well.

Don’t like the colour much but it seems the norm these days for car manufacturers to launch new products in bright insipid colours. Role on UK launch.

I don’t understand the comparison with the fugly Yaris. The old Mazda2 was a tweaked 121 Metro, this new design is obviously from a desire to make the Mazda2 “fit in” with the current Mazda range – an update that was definitely required. The first thing I think of is a Mazda3. Will be interesting to see if the 3′s sales suffer in favour of the 2 once it hits the road here.

I’m looking at buying, at the moment it’s a toss up between a Mazda3 and the new Corolla. Having now got a glimpse of the new Mazda2, I’m going to wait until I can test drive it before making a decision.

In response to Kerr, there is no comparison between a new corolla and mazda 3 the corolla does not match it in any areas it has a very outdated 1.8 ltr engine that is underpowered. Plus the standard features do not stack up. The new mazda 2 is exciting has gret looks and has been improved in every area.

I picked myself up one of these 2 weeks ago and ive already done my first 1000k Nice car i got myself a neo with Tinting windows and Mazda mats for $20,400 after much haggling ( I went to every single dealership in Sydney and that was the lowest i could get …NO JOKE! )

I almost fell asleep driving this car…. i don’t know about the rest of you guys but i’m a motorbike rider and driving any car puts me to sleep!

I tested the Jazz, Yaris and a Carola and they all felt sluggish and slow The Mazda is very quick with turns and quick when you want speed.. very nice to drive still nothing beats a motorbike.

I’m very happy with my buy… the Yaris was an option but i’m glad i got the mazda

Want a real thrill get a motorbike! want a people mover thats zippier then most small cars .. get a Mazda 2

Rajat, do you need a new car? There are very good second hand cars going around, and if you buy a 1-3yr old vehicle most still have warranty, and there are huge savings to be made. At 16, I would recommend a 2nd hand car, both because it will be much cheaper (ongoing cost are sinicant too), and a ding or two won’t annoy you as much =p
