Alex,I could tell a long time ago that you were what you said you were.Thats fine,we are not all born to wealth.
I personally dislike class systems, and people that categerise themselves in such a way.
There is so much more to humans than the amount of money they have, but in your case it seems that's all you are.
I dont like working on cars any more,in fact I loath it,but I am so glad that I have learnt what they are all about. This gives one a better understanding of what one is doing, and what the machine is doing,a greater satisfaction is gained from knowledge of the mechanics of the car.
Still, ignorance is bliss for the chosen ones aye.

Dion, I honestly do hate to sound like some upper class tosser, especially considering all this seems so simple, but I pay somebody to do it for me.

Thanks guys for a very informative article. This can really help other car fanatics care for their tyres and get an idea how to check if their tyres are still good or needs replacement.

You confused effect and affect. Good article otherwise. I'm convinced that the speed humps I drive over on the way to work everyday are screwing up my tyres.

Alex, given that a general rule is to check your tyre presure about once a month, you must've been driving on some incredibly flat tires if you've never ever pumped them up in years! How could you not notice?

Its sad and incredible that people would not even know these basics.
Makes me shudder to think of all the inexperienced ignorant types out there that drive cars,or 4wd's,that are un-educated when it comes to the out and out basics of safety.
This article and replies makes me realise how many people shouldn't be allowed out on our roads.
If someone out there is in charge of a killing machine but yet doesn't even know about inflating tyres then this is proof that the driving tests are not teaching enough these days.
Thanks for an informative article that will educate the un-educated.

I think that's why they included this bit CM:

*For specific tyre rotation recommendations for your car, please refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual.

Whoa there guys. Your rotation graphic is a load of crap if your car happens to have directional tyres (as many now do).
With directionals, you must keep them on the same side of the car when swapping front to rear.

Goodness, this is all a bit of a revelation to me! In my eight years (I think it's been that long, I can't really remember) of driving, not once have I done anything more to my tyres than buy new ones! I have no idea how to put air in them and I've certainly never checked tyre pressures before. I've never changed a wheel either. You never realise these Car Advice College things have a point until you realise that you have no idea how to do the things they write about :)
