Underbelly Monaro up for sale

The Brilliant Blue Holden HK Monaro GTS 327 coupe used as Judy Kane’s car in a recent ‘Underbelly: a Tale of Two Cities’ episode will go under the hammer at the Shannons Winter Auction at the Sydney Showgrounds on July 12.

Delivered new by Stacks Holden in Rose Bay (Sydney), this two-owner Monaro was build number 312 of what has become one of Australia’s most collectible muscle cars and is in very original and correct condition down to its hubcaps, having covered just 89,000 miles.
It comes with all the wanted ‘Bathurst’ Monaro features, including its original 327 cubic inch Chevrolet-sourced V8 engine, four-speed manual gearbox, limited slip differential, stiffer sports suspension with rear radius rods, power front disc brakes and a long-range 25 gallon fuel tank.

As added sweeteners, the Monaro is being sold with its glovebox lid personally signed by star actress Kate Ritchie, who played Judy Kane in Underbelly, and comes with unique and appropriate ‘UBELLY’ personalised NSW number plates.

Shannons expect it to sell in the $130,000-$160,000 range.

Meanwhile Ford fans are offered a rare and highly-desirable LHD Candyapple Red 1969 Mustang Boss 429 Fastback.

The car features all the usual Boss 429 options, including the four-speed close ratio gearbox, Traction Lok diff, Visibility Group, F60x15 tyres with raised lettering, console, power front disc brakes, power steering, Deluxe Interior Decor Group, AM radio, Deluxe belts with warning light, colour-keyed racing mirrors, competition suspension, function front air spoiler and trunk-mounted batter.

The Boss 429 has been in Australia for the past four years and is in show condition with all matching numbers. It is accompanied by documentation including the original sales invoice, a Deluxe Marti report and old US titles.

Shannons are quoting a guiding range of $200,000-$240,000.
