I love how Shannons always use that same crap backround for their auction photos. Maybe it doesn’t detract from the cars but looks cheap I reckon..

BM, I am over on business. I travel extensivley through North, Central South America, Europe and Asia. Normaly get travel to line up with car events and F1 races. Sounds great but let me tell you, living out of a case is no fun. But then if I hated it, I wouldnt do it.
Got to drive a new Camaro today. It is just brilliant. Blind spots can be a bit of a problem at first but once you get used to it, they are not too bad. It handles well, is quiet and goes like hell! Lets hope that once GM get sorted, they build them in RHD. Not holding my breath though!

They are asking very strong money for a HK with such little providence. What the hell does underbelly add? Nothing. I think it actually detracts from the image. The millage is way too high as well for the money. This price deserves under 50,000 miles.

The Mustang is asking mint Mach 1 or shabby GT500 money. Still nothing wrong with asking for it I guess. No law against making a profit! I would wait until the market bottoms, maybe later this year.

i’ve had the privilage of a drive in a gen shelby big block mustang,and it was awesome.the first turn of the key primed this one’s electric fuel pumps,which wined up to a scream,then bang,and big block roared to life.the block was reasonably still at adle,but the whole car rocked,the sound was great…

I believe both of them were a one off as they were built for Bill Bourke. The XW being far more extravagant than the XR

There is also apparently a USA Style Emerald Green XR GT Falcon Club Coupe with a 427 in it [I saw it in Street Machine a couple of years ago] however; I don’t think it was a one off

Will – Ford actually built 2 “Bill Bourke” GTs

The first was a 1967 XR GT known as the managers Special” which was a standard GT Falcon in unique colour called Rusett Bronze [similar to the Jaffa Colour the 10th Anniversary cHSVs came in]

Then a couple of years later they built the 1970 XW GT-HO Phase 1 Falcon Built for Bill Bourke [and is the more well known model] it had a range of special features including Black Pearl Paint a sunroof and a Cobra Jet 427ci V8.

Which one were you referring to?

Ive been told that many a time. Have several friends that are Chev supporters over there and love the G8 and one has a GTO………….loves it ! I too wouldnt be surprised if you saw the Commodore over there again .

The only two Australian muscle cars I would glance longingly at are the XR BB and the LJ GTR XU-1 (purple). The first is only seen in protected shadows behind numerous security devices the second while not having the iconic status is still rare.

Not being the size queen some are, or getting all wet over a ’shaker’ I am more likely to get animated over a ‘72 500 Abarth with optional Pirelli’s. Woohoo!

BM, you are so right. I went to a small car show here in Atlanta today (Sunday here). Three Aussie cars on display. A HK Monaro, XY and a XA/XB coupe (can’t say which. All imaculate and all pulling crowds. Spoke to the HK owner and he said there is a strong Aussie muscle car following here in the states and people pay BIG money for them. Mustangs, Corvetes and Camaro’s are a dime a dozen here and are just cars, with the exception of special low run cars. The other interesting thing is that despite what we read, the Pontiac GTO (Monaro) and G8 (Commodore) are rated as being desirable cars with a strong following. A couple of magazines and people here are predicting that in the future, they will command big prices due to the relatively low sales numbers. It is also good to see that magazines here rate them highly apart from the fuel consumption. But then (like at home) you don’t buy a 6.2 litre V8, 4 door, 5 seater car for its thrifty fuel consuption.

hahaha Z28 yeah right how many thousands of those did they make ?

Because here in Australia our muscle cars are made in such low numbers to start with they will be worth the bigger dollars than the average US muscle car .

300 phase 3 made 93 left get it !

Again if you knew anything about Muscle cars you will know its a universal appeal ,Americans especially already buy our stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Falcon Coupes more than anything else!
