McLaren P1 gets dressed up in Gulf colours
Through its MSO Bespoke arm, McLaren has come up with a one-off McLaren P1 finished in colours reminiscent of the famous Gulf racing team of the 1970s.
The one-off P1 was created for Miles Nadal, who requested that his vehicle be finished in the same colours as the F1 GTR race car. As such, Nadal's P1 features a light blue body with orange highlights.
Orange has been applied to the tapered stripe down the centre of the car and on the brake calipers. The colour has also been used on the edges of some of the car's carbonfibre parts, such as the front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirts.
On the inside, there's plenty of contrasting orange stitching, as well as alternating light blue and orange knobs and switches on the centre console and steering wheel.
Although the Gulf-style P1 looks faster than its more run-of-the-mill siblings, McLaren doesn't note any mechanical changes to the car.
This means that the P1's 673kW/900Nm hybrid drivetrain, which features a 542kW/720Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 and a 132kW/260Nm electric motor, is likely to have remained untouched. As with other P1s, Nadal's car sends its power to rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The 0-100km/h time should also remain unchanged at 2.8 seconds, with 200km/h coming up in 6.8 seconds and 300km/h possible within 16.5 seconds. On regular P1s, the top speed is electronically limited to 350km/h.
