Honda Odyssey Recall

June 19, 2006 by Alborz Fallah

Honda Australia has announced a Odyssey Recall which include certain 1995 and 1996 Odyssey models. The safety recall is to fix the possibility of the ignition switch failing and causing the engine to stall. However Honda reports that there are no such cases reported in Australia and Honda will replace the ignition switch at no cost to the customer.

A total of 1424 vehicles are involved in this recall within Australia:

  • 1995 Odyssey – 775 units
  • 1996 Odyssey – 649 units

All affected customers will be contacted by mail and advised of the vehicle safety recall in accordance with the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries Code of Practice.

Owners of the Odyssey models listed above can call Honda’s customer service line on 1800 804 954 for further information.

Given that the cars are 10+ years old, it seems a little late for this recall! But better late than never.
