2015 Skoda Superb rear revealed in official sketch

The Czech car maker has given the world a first glimpse at the design of the rear of the next-generation Skoda Superb.

Just days before Christmas, the company has issued a stylised sketch of the new Superb's posterior. This follows on from a design drawing of the car's front end, which was revealed online last week.

The Superb will be the second car in Skoda's range, after the recently unveiled Fabia, to adopt the company's new design philosophy. Borrowing liberally from the VisionC concept car, Skoda's new design language hopes to give the brand's products a little bit more visual vim.

Although the company has yet to give the world a look at the Superb's interior, it does promise that "significant expressive shapes of the exterior can also be found on the inside of the car".

Based on the Volkswagen Group's transverse front-engine front- and all-wheel MQB modular platform, the third-generation Superb is scheduled to make its world premiere at an event in Prague in the middle of February 2015.

The public will get its first in-the-flesh look at the car during the Geneva motor show in March. The Superb will then land in showrooms across Europe from mid-2015, though is not expected in Australia until 2016.
