2015 Suzuki New Cars

Details of the new and updated Suzuki models launching in Australia in 2015.

Suzuki Celerio – February

Suzuki will replace its Alto micro car with the more mature Celerio hatchback in February.

Larger in every direction, the Celerio offers five seats (up from the Alto’s four) and a 254-litre boot, which is more than twice the size of its predecessor’s.

It’s set to retain the Alto’s 50kW/90Nm 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, though fuel consumption of automatic variants it expected to fall below 5.0 litres per 100 kilometres.

Suzuki Australia anticipates a four-star ANCAP safety rating for its new baby, and is targeting pre-runout Alto pricing, suggesting pricing between $12,000 and $14,000 before on-road costs.

Suzuki Vitara – August

Suzuki’s most important new vehicle launch since the arrival of the current-generation Swift is set for August – the introduction of the new Vitara SUV.

To be priced aggressively from as little as $23,000, the Vitara will come standard with brand-first features such as Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink infotainment technologies.

The 4175mm-long Evoque lookalike is slightly smaller than key rival, the Holden Trax, but will offer a larger 375-litre boot.

An 88kW/156Nm 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine borrowed from the S-Cross is likely to be the only powertrain option, available with manual and automatic transmissions and front- and four-wheel drivetrains.

Suzuki plans to target the Vitara at young professionals and others who might be considering a small hatchback, and will offer eye-catching options such as two-tone exterior paint and matching interior panels.
