The Chinese Government doesn’t like the French Governments’ support of the Dalai Lama, so they retaliate where it hurts most, economically.

Just like ’08 Olympics when the Chinese boycotted French Supermarket chain Carrefour.

China is becoming the world’s no.1 super power. It’s ok to be jealous. But think about who’ll have the last laugh.

Back on the topic,

Renault spokeswoman Gita Roux said China’s concerns arose from problems with the transport and storage of a limited number of cars and that there are no issues connected to manufacturing.

“We’re sending a team of experts to look into it and to make sure we establish the proper processes,” she said by telephone. “Our concern is to ensure that we comply fully with requirements of the Chinese authorities.”

yeah a bit unusual.

Some countries do have certain regulations that vary a lot from western countries, and Renault designs cars mainly for those countries.

Its probably a minor small “regulation” unfulfilled in Renault’s part and the news got escalated and exagerated…. Because seriously… to ban a car from China for “safety” is a bit wacked.
