Peugeot & Citroen Luxury Brand? Panhard.

By Alborz Fallah |

Citroen and Peugeot don’t share the same image in Australia as they do in Europe. In Australia, one can easily be mistaken in taking the French brands as Luxury vehicles, after all, most European cars tend to share a positive image here.

However in Europe, the difference between a Peugeot’s image and BMW’s is more apparent. The Germans (and Lexus) have long held onto their image of power and luxury, and for most manufacturers it is near impossible to go after the top three without a complete image overhaul. And thats exactly what Peugeot and Citroen might be planning.

Both French companies are governed by the PSA group (PSA Peugeot Citroen), which autocar reports is currently considering the revival of the Panhard brand to target the premium luxury segment.

Peugeot & Citroen Luxury Car? Panhard

Panhard is not exactly a household name, France’s leading 19th century car-maker once rubbed shoulders with the likes of Mercedes-Benz prior to fading into the history books (Citroen purchased the company in the 60s). You can read more about Panhard here.

All details are currently unconfirmed. More on this as we know!

We now know that Citroen is the company PSA chose to go upmarket. Panhard, my ass!!! Citroen was the best choice to push the company upmarket anyway.

Afforadable luxury for a new generation cant be garnered by old brands when those who remember them eat baby food in nursng homes.
