Tata Xenon price cut to $16,990 driveaway in MY14 run-out

Tata Motors has announced special run-out pricing for its 2014 Xenon range, cutting the Indian ute’s starting price to $16,990 driveaway.

That bargain basement price applies to the MY14 4x2 single-cab pick-up variant, representing a $4000 saving over the regular pricing advertised on Tata’s website. The MY14 4x4 single-cab pick-up, available from $18,990 driveaway, is also $4000 cheaper than normal.

MY14 single-cab chassis Xenons with trays have been cut to $18,990 driveaway (4x2) and $20,990 driveaway (4x4), down $2000 from their normal prices, while MY14 Xenon dual-cab pick-ups are also $2000 cheaper than usual, down to $21,490 driveaway (4x2) and $23,990 driveaway (4x4).

Consumers should be aware, however, that the MY14 Tata Xenon range misses out on the enhanced safety package that’s standard on MY15 Xenon vehicles that were introduced in December.

Unlike the MY15 range, MY14 utes do not get electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold control, drag torque control, hydraulic brake assist or electronic brakeforce distribution.

The MY14 Xenon dual-cab was rated two stars for safety by ANCAP, while the single-cab models are unrated at this stage.

The MY15 range continues to be offered from $22,990 driveaway in 4x2 single-cab form up to $28,990 driveaway for the four-star ANCAP-rated dual-cab pick-up, which comes standard with satellite navigation and a reverse-view camera.

All Xenon utes are powered by a 110kW/320Nm 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and are available only with a five-speed manual transmission.

The MY14 Tata Xenon run-out pricing offer applies until December 31.
