2009 BMW M3 Coupé Edition Model
June 2, 2009 by George Skentzos
BMW Australia has announced that it has managed to secure a strictly limited number of the highly exclusive M3 Edition Models which will arrive on our shores towards the end of the year.
Available exclusively for the M3 Coupé, the Edition Model offers a choice of four individual configurations comprising body design and interior features, together with special light-alloy wheels and lowered suspension.
The exterior paintwork is available in four select hues – Alpine White Non-Metallic, Black Non-Metallic, Dakar Yellow Non-Metallic or Monte Carlo Blue Metallic – and has been combined with high-gloss satin chrome exterior accents.
The interior features special coloured highlights incorporating the centre console, armrests and on the door panels, matching the exterior paintwork.
In addition to this, the trim has been finished in carbon leather with white contrasting seams
A similar contrasting seam is carried over to the bespoke black Novillo leather sports seats which also feature vertical trim stripes on the upper section of the backrest and at the front of the leg rest, dependent on the exterior colour.
The finishing touch is a new checkered flag design on each entry sill bearing the “M3“model designation.
The M3 Edition Model also receives unique 19-inch forged M light-alloy rims in double-spoke design in either black, classic rim colour or in a special white contrasting colour with polished spokes.
Finally, adding to its sporting style is new suspension which lowers the entire body by 10 millimetres.
Just three BMW M3 Edition Models have been secured by BMW for Australia, ensuring the ultimate in exclusivity.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed.

Although much hasnt changed, this car in this colour looks HOT. Definetly want one. Some how BMW can make an almighty car evn better just by giving it a new lick of paint.
this is very old news/pics… well, very old as in about 5 days..
Jazrod, confirmation that the M3 Edition Model would arrive in Australia was only announced today.
Yep is old Jazrod.
Dakar Yellow…………not sure how that will look on the new shape ,I got sick of it in the E36 ,was very washed out!
BOO BMW for no CSL…………
See BM, even BMW are confused by a special and limited edition, so they just stick with edition :)
A friend of mine has a 98 M3 in Dakar yellow and it has really grown on me, but I don’t know how it would look on this model. The white car pictured with black rims looks really good though
hahaha aint that the truth Steve .
A 98 in Dakar, really ! I thought they only came in the 3.0 litre model . You learn something every day.
Dakar was the colour I first wanted ,then I wanted techno violet but was happy in my individual colour in the end.Out of interest does your mate like me use his only as a monthly driver too ? Seems most of the older ones these days are stored away .
So you have great taste in friends SteveH :)
Not sure about the ride once they have dumped it again, suspension is already pretty rigid in these things. There goes the fillings…………
Positive my friend has the first of the 3.2 litre ones, but may need to check. He used it most days, but he also has his wifes car and a motorbike to choose from. He has actually just sold it, so its a shame I only had a couple of drives in it. I still remember seeing a Doctor where I used to live had an M3 which I think was the first of the V8’s. It was a shocking mustard colour that we affectionally called baby poo brown.
You are right about the ride in this Edition model, but I couldn’t see a 10mm drop affecting it to badly as they say the handling in the standard M3 is not as stiff as its competition.
BMW did it again this time. BMW M3 looks awesome, I like to own one. I’m sure it still has the same great features. White makes it even more great looking.
But then, I’m biased because I’m a BMW fan :)
Nah mate, I’d rather get a Ford GTP and and invest the rest of my money… a Ford has all the features and quality of a BMW M3 at one third of the price… those BMW buyers are just getting taken for a ride… I’m so much smarter than them…
Seriously – what a quality car!
