Mr Abscess, if you're going to post retorts, at least make them witty or incisive. Yours is dull and pointless. Your little joke (I'm being generous in calling it that) wouldn't even make a ten year old chortle. Utterly lame.

By the way, the word you were looking for in your 9-word post is "you're", not "your", you ill-educated buffoon. And what, pray-tell, is a 'Blo Arse'? Is it the opposite of a 'Suck Arse'? Or did its mindless undescriptive crudity appeal to you? You're clearly another example of our poor state educational system. When was the last time you read a book?

You and your ilk demonstrate that many of those who support GM and Holden, and the government largesse that support them, are barely literate, let alone able to construct a rational argument as to why Holden, an irrelevant un-innovative company that has lost money for years, should continue to be supported with productive Australians' tax dollars.

I eagerly await the response of you or other economically illiterate, inarticulate, wilfully ignorant, jelly-brained bogans.

Thank you very much. I believe it's rather insightful, if I do say so.

Sometimes the truth hurts. You might be able to ignore it for a while, but it will eventually catch up with you, as GM have discovered.

Holden lost money during the largest car-buying spree in history. Any car company that lost money in 2007 (as Holden did) is DOOMED unless they change their strategy.

The mother-ship (GM) aren't going to be giving Holden one red cent now that they're (GM, that is) owned by the US tax-payer. Unless Holden starts making money, and soon, they'll run out of cash, and before you know it, no more Holden manufacturing.

GM and its subsidiaries are an object lesson in the meaning of the term 'economically unsustainable'.

Manufacturing, manushmacturing. What a worthless industry! Within 20 years, people will be shocked to realise that computers and industrial robots have become so good that the vast majority of manufacturing employees simply aren't needed anymore. All you'll need are the guys who service the robots. Think what the combine harvester did to agricultural employment... well, that's what you're going to see happen to manufacturing within 20 years.

And as for 'Australian developed' cars, what a waste of effort. Hey, lets spend billions developing a car for Australia, while the Japanese spend tens of billions, but sell their cars all over the world... NOT. Designing for small markets like Australia is a doomed practice, and won't ever happen again. Everyone knows about economies of scale; Toyota's doing so well because they put them into practice.

Here's what the future of Australian car manufacturing looks like; a few factories, packed with robots and very few people, churning out 'global car' designs, with the only difference between the overseas models and our models being the badge. Right now, a Corolla is a Corolla is a Corolla, no matter where you go. This will end up happening to all car models except exotics.

It will be a good thing, too. Right now, Holden is group of bogans making dodgy cars for other bogans, sucking at the government teat. However, it will soon transform into an arm of GM making cars like Cruzes with industrial robots, and sticking Holden badges on them. Hell, they're almost there now... the Dunnydore is the last to go. They still might make a large car, but it will be a 'world car'.

Even if Holden never actually made it to this stage, and failed anyway, I wouldn't care. I make products for export, but because I'm not an overall wearing bogan with a goatee, and because I don't self-identify as a 'battler', and because I don't constantly try to hijack the term 'true Ozzie bloke' every 5 minutes, the government doesn't see fit to subsidise my industry, so I have to make it on my own.

Australia has a large bogan population with a massive chip on their shoulders and enough self-entitlement to sink a supertanker. It's time to stop feeding these clowns government money. Frankly, the cost of guys to come and re-floor my house is too high, and a few more of these type on the labour market would do wonders for my house renovation budget.

Wheelnut do you really think the language at Bathurst is the same as that in general society? Should the general public expect to be called c##ts and p###ies?

And you call my internet posts “abuse” – I think you might need professional help on perspectives here.

The 3.0 litre Direct Injection Engine does exist its built by the Holden Engine Company at theeir new Facility at Port Melbourne. Cadillac use a similar DI Engine.

So given that all Australian Car Manufacturers are looking for ways to improve the fuel efficiency of their cars why wouldn't Holden offer a 3.0 litre DI V6 particularly as there are reports that they are looking at making the Commodore more "compact" in the future.

Besides I think Mark Reuss would have a better idea of what's going on at Holden than you would - but if you like I can confirm it with my mates who work at the factory

Confused; when people mention the anti spam word that they had to enter inorder for their comments to be posted.. they are hinting at the irony as sometimes the anti spam word relates to the topic at hand

If a topic is about Toyota for example and the anti spam word is Prius or Corolla or Celica etc.. even though the anti spam words are randomly selected; they are mentioning how ironic it is that the topic and anti spam word relate to eachother- It's just a bit of fun really.

In an interview with "Drive" Mark Reuss hinted that when the updated VE Commodore is released in September its likely to have a smaller lighter more advanced 3.0 Litre Direct Injection V6 [similar to the one used by Cadillac] along with a more refined 6 speed automatic which is expected to make the Commodore the most fuel efficient Locally built car - from the current 10.5 to 9.5L/100Km.
He also mentioned the possibility of a dedicated LPG VE and a Diesel version but wouldn't go into any specific details
