Toyota F1 team selling serious go-fast bits
May 30, 2009 by George Skentzos
The race merchandise kiosk just got a whole lot more exciting with Toyota’s Formula One team set to offer high-tech parts from its past racing cars alongside the familiar caps, shirts and key rings.
Almost everything will be available for the public to buy from real carbon fibre wings to brake callipers and alloy wheels – at a disturbingly reasonable price.
At the bargain end of the scale are the wheels, brake discs and suspension parts which could be yours for less than A$400 while front and rear wing assemblies will set you back between A$1,400 and A$4,000.
For the ultimate in fan paraphernalia, a complete rear wing, engine cover and underbody section – virtually half an entire Formula One car – comes in at just A$8,900.
The bargain of the century though has to be the Brembo Formula One racing callipers at just A$600 per corner – the CarAdvice company car is getting an overhaul!
This offer is strictly ‘while stocks last’ and for any race enthusiast this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get this kind of gear at this price.

Has Toyota got bonds in GM?
Why to fire sale?
Sort of people that buy this trash are like those who wear Holden jackets and buy Holden dooner (Duvet for Eurobods)covers!!
Do they sell rear F1 wing mounting brackets for camrys as well.
@Cupid Stunt:
I dont see how anyone who didnt want a genuine used formula one brake calliper could call themselves a car enthusiast. How much youre willing to pay is another thing
Doesn’t your F1 car need to be fast in order to sell “serious go fast” bits?
hahaha yeah maybe that what they’re now looking for :)
I want those brembo calipers in my life!
those wheels and that fully sick areodynamic wing would look hektic on my starlet brah, HAHA
joookes, jooookes….
Tryhard performance bits, from the Tryhard performance car company.
What about Prius??forget performance car, thats a Tryhard car.
That wing can go on the back of my VN wagon or VT wagon. Do you know how much of a dick I would look like!? Hehe…….
ABSCESS, I think I’m beggining to like you. ;)
if 3rd in the world championship isnt fast i dont know what is richo you dope
“richo” you have no idea about F1, toyota are sitting in 3rd place and are having a lot better year, there doing way better than BMW (bavarian motor w*#kers) BMW are right on the bottom in 8th place and going nowhere this year!i guess if they have no use for old parts why not sell them, hell honda sold there whole team!
They may be coming 3rd – yet its taken them 6 years and over $300m to get there….
However; given that they have a budget which is bigger than the other F1 teams you would expect them to be leading.[particularly with the theory of Kaizen etc]
Therefore; the fact that they are coming 3rd all it is saying is that there are 2 other teams with smaller budgets doing more with their cars and other resources than Toyota.
JammedFig ………………Toyota only wish they could have achieved what BMW have so far in F1 or anyother motorsport they compete in.
You really are sad !
Cg & Figjam
In the last F1 race held in Monaco Toyota qualified second last and last! Unsurprisingly, they did not score a single championship point in that race. Actually, the last time Toyota F1 scored any championship points was three races ago!
Toyota started the season well but have not kept pace with the other teams, and from the next race this weekend in Turkey they’ll begin a long and miserable slide down to the bottom end of the Constructors Championship.

Yamashima said the continued cost of competing in F1 will force Toyota to reconsider its motorsport program, especially in the wake of forecasts suggesting the parent company will suffer a net loss of more than $AUD5 billion for 2009.
The Japanese outfit is yet to finalise its budget for 2010. It has also notified drivers Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock that their services will not be required for next year.

Yamashima’s comments are a further blow to Formula 1. The pre-season withdrawal of Honda and recently announced departure of BMW
All I can say is….
So much for Toyotas 5 year Commitment to F1 and having resources finances and management structure to withstand any of the problems experienced by ordinary car manufacturers
There is little to be gained from saying your cars have F1 technology (even when they don’t) when your F1 cars are always at the back of the grid.
