Lexus LF-A Spotted

Toyota fans rejoice, the Lexus V10 LF-A is going through late stages of development. WorldCarFans spotted a prototype doing laps at the Nürburgring.

The LF-A concept which first appeared in the 2005 Detroit Motorshow is roughly 2 inches shorter than a Porsche 911, but has a 9-inch longer wheelbase.

Power from the V10 engine is expected at around 350kW with a top speed of over 300km/hr. We expect Lexus to officially show off the LF-A at the motorshow in Frankfurt in September.

The next few years will three new supercars from the Japanese, the new Honda NSX, the mighty Skyline GT-R and the Lexus IS-F. Then there is the new Toyota Supra as well.

The new Lexus will take the fight to Audi’s new R8, the Nissan GT-R and of course Porsche’s 911. Lexus has unofficially hinted the car will go into a production run depending on demand. Expect to see a lot more of this next year.

Looks like a new generation 300ZX. Pretty slick car, not totally sold on the exhaust outlets though.

yes, something odd about three-pipes, if it had four it would look like the Zonda though and then people would complain! Perhaps it needs five?

  3. Dingo Says:

It is awesome - i love it and can not wait until it is officially released. Lexus(and Toyota)need these two new supercars to boost it’s image and i believe the IS-F and LF-A will do exactly that.

very nice, first ive seen of it. toyota can just go from strength to strength. Goodbye GM

  5. tony Says:

the rear styling is the business, not sold on the front though. A little Japanese generic.

  6. Paul Says:

Im not sold on it at all… looks abit outdated for mine. The brake lights for example remind me of that you see on light trucks. The front, I dont know what it is, but it doesnt appeal to me. The overall shape is nice… but the finer details are lacking, particularly so when you consider this will be a very expensive vehicle.

  8. Dingo Says:

280ZX - certainly nothing from GM anyway !!

  9. 280zx Says:

GM ? Whats that got to do with anything? I own a 280ZX and a Mitsubishi Lancer GLXI ? Dont know where you get GM from unless your employed by Holden to keep mentioning them as you do so often?? Hmmmmmm veeeery interesting Dingbat!

Riiiight… I dont know how people think it looks good, the rear is shyte… the grills looks stupid and Ive realised exactly what the brake lights remind me of exactly… the ones on the back of my boat trailer! Front is lesser of two evils, still doesnt inspire me to want to fork over shyteloads of money as this car will be worth.

For god sake, its still a prototype. If you look closely u can actually see the shape of real taillight, and I can tell you the front is no where near the real production car. Very smart disguise from toyota though!

  12. Lexus IS350 Says:

The latest rumour from a Japanese Magazine is 550hp(410KW) and a Hybrid option with LS600h drivetrain except the 5.0L V8 is from upcoming IS-F tuned by Yamaha.

  13. Myke Says:

ATM is doesn’t look that great, but that should change once it is realised and it’s real curves are shown.

It is good to see Lexus make an attempt to show a sporting image with their vehicles: [rumoured] 400+kw and not trying to attempt that amount of power through FWD.

Yeah yeah STFU… I read the article which said its in late stage of development and assumed thats what it will look like, you are right the real outline is quite clear on those rear tail lights and the front looks like parts are misaligned (ie cover up).

  15. Damo Says:

The rear looks nothing like that at all. I had a comment on here yesterday saying this but it must have been deleted. Anyway, do a google search, but if you guys were smart you would have seen it in April’s Top Gear mag 2 months ago. Anyway, here is a link to the actual taillights from he Lexus site: http://www.btgmotoring.com/alb.....05-425.JPG

  17. jdm102 Says:
