Trion Nemesis RR : 1500kW, 435km/h supercar confirmed for 2016

Californian start-up Trion SuperCars will begin production of its 1500kW Nemesis RR in a little over 12 months’ time.

Targeting the likes of the Bugatti Veyron and the Koenigsegg One:1, Trion projects the Nemesis RR will launch from 0-60mph (0-96.6km/h) in just 2.8 seconds on its way to a top speed in excess of 435km/h.

Providing the muscle to meet those claims is a twin-turbocharged 9.0-litre V8 producing approximately 2000hp (1490kW). Grunt is channelled to all four wheels via an eight-speed sequential transmission.

The Nemesis RR’s monocoque chassis and many of its body panels are made from carbonfibre, while active aerodynamics throughout the vehicle are designed to enhance its handling ability.

Carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers join a pushrod-based suspension system at the car’s corners.

The cabin features a digital display with internet connectivity and access to a selection of driving modes such as Predator Mode, which modifies the rev limits, exhaust, suspension, ride height and interior illumination.

Trion also claims the cockpit can comfortably seat a 7ft -tall (213cm) driver and says the boot is large enough to swallow a set of golf clubs or luggage.

Prototype versions of the Nemesis RR are scheduled for production in February. If all goes to plan, Trion will begin building customer cars in January 2016. A run of 50 cars is planned, with each priced at more than US$1 million ($1.14m).

Trion has also announced plans for a less-hardcore Nemesis GT, a plug-in hybrid Nemesis ER, and a pure-electric Nemesis E.
