Suzuki Grand Vitara line-up reduced as part of 2015 update
The 2015 Suzuki Grand Vitara range will feature new equipment and revised styling but fewer variants as part of an updated SUV line-up.
Culling its existing five models down to four, Suzuki will now offer only three five-door Grand Vitaras and one three-door. The changes mean the end of the $38,990 five-door Prestige.
Featuring a dark-chrome front grille, chrome roof rails and 18-inch dark-silver alloy wheels – up from 17-inch items – the rear-wheel-drive automatic-only Urban Navigator and four-wheel-drive Grand Vitara Sport start at $27,490 and $30,990 respectively.
Suzuki is, however, also currently offering the five-door Urban Navigator at $27,990 driveaway, including satellite navigation, cruise control, climate control, reversing camera and Bluetooth connectivity as standard. Front fog lights are exclusively reserved for the higher-spec Sport.
Inside, both five-door models are highlighted by suede and fabric seat upholstery and champagne-silver trim accents.
Starting at $25,990 for the five-speed manual and $27,990 for the four-speed automatic, the three-door four-wheel-drive Urban Navigator carries over unchanged, with the exception of new-look 16-inch alloy wheels.
The existing 122kW/225Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine too remains, with the 95kW/300Nm 1.9-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel continuing as the sole oil-burning option.
Selling 1473 units to the end of August, year-on-year Suzuki Grand Vitara sales are down more than 34 per cent compared to the same time last year.
