Toyota HiLux Black : Limited edition ute here next month

The subject of a wide-reaching teaser campaign, the HiLux Black can be seen sporting LED daytime running lights in place of the standard foglights and features a striking red blade at the base of the lower central air intake.

Toyota Australia revealed to CarAdvice the HiLux Black will also be finished with unique front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, and colour-coded sports bars in an attempt to create a more “urban” appearance.

The Toyota HiLux Black will be available with either black or white exterior paint, and all will feature black leather-accented interior upholstery.

The Black edition will be available exclusively with Toyota’s 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, which produces 126kW of power and 343Nm of torque.

Toyota has not announced pricing for the HiLux Black at this stage, but has confirmed the special edition model will be based on the flagship SR5. The SR5 costs $51,740 in dual-cab manual form and $54,490 as an auto. The Black is expected to be priced slightly higher than the SR5.
