Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS Roadster spied

These spy shots have all but confirmed that Aston Martin is set to release a drop-top sibling to the track-focussed V12 Vantage RS, with a prototype spied near the Nurburgring.

Based at Aston Martin's track-side development facility, the convertible version will combine two of the brand's most iconic offerings - the Vantage Roadster and 6.0-litre V12 engine.

Having compared the Vantage Coupe and Roadster on more than one occasion here at CarAdvice, it is safe to say the convertible will not compromise on performance - boasting one of the stiffest drop-top chassis in the world.

Although current speculation suggests this may just be a regular V8 Vantage with upgraded body work, though this seems unlikely.

CarAdvice has already secured the only Australian drive of the Vantage RS in the coming week as it makes its press debut at the Nurburgring in Germany.
