2009 Maserati GranTurismo Spyder spied
Maserati's most stunning model at present is set to go topless with a convertible GranTurismo prototype spied on roads surrounding the Nurburgring.
The GranTurismo Spyder is likely to feature a folding metal roof rather than the conventional fabric top in line with its sibling car the new Ferrari California.
Unlike its predecessor, the new GT Spyder is rumoured to be a 2+2 rather than just being a pure two-seater.
The engine and powertrain are expected to remain identical to the coupe, with a few structural additions to stiffen the chassis.
The Maserati GranTurismo Spyder is set to debut at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.
