Great little car but took it in for a trade. Price quoted was 50% less than purchase price 20 months ago.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Paid the full price for the car on purchase $28990 offer for trade in was $14,000 at ford dealers.Expected to get a resonable deal. HUGE loss so think car very overpriced to start with. This is the biggest depreciation I have ever had on a car!!!!!!!!!!
NOT HAPPY.

I traded my Zetec in last week for a XR4 and I can assure you it drives as well as it looks.
Ford engineers have put together a well balanced package that delivers performance and safety with looks.

The two Litre engine has sufficient power to shred ones license, with handling to match.

I ride a high performance motor bike and the XR4 delivers the same adrenaline rush.

Crashing into the compact hot hatch market, it's great to see the Ford XR4 is actually available rather than suffering the availability delays the XR5T suffered.

"Does it come in a 5 door also?"

nope, atm it is 3dr only. It is unlikely that Ford would add a 5dr, but you never know. They just did with the Zetec though.

Yeah Id say room is an issue with a turbo and the market... not srue about it being a 'performance' car though, 110kw and 190Nm of troque is good for its engine size but its not going to be extremely quick even with its light weight.

QUOTE = Engineers have designed the sytem to use gas dynamic effects in the engine’s intake system to tune its performance through the variable intake runner lengths - did you get that?

Thats nothing special, V6 Camrys back in the early 90s had variable intake, it was called ACIS... it improves low down torque mainly.

My wife use have an XR2 Fiesta, which scored cult status about 10 years ago.

The XR4 is a nice looking small performance car. As mentioned to Damo on another post I'd like to see this head to head with the Mitsu Colt Ralliart, or the Corsa VXR if it ever comes to aus.

By the sounds of things there is no room for a turbo!!

I'd complain about the lack of turbo, but I suppose if it were, it wouldn't be available to its target market with P-plater turbo restrictions.
