hmm guys first iam not so good in english but i will try to do my best
the cerato car is so good and about the fuel consumption it is okay guy just change the spark plugs and it will be so good there is a problem in the spark plugs type u can use iriduim or platinum from denso or ngk manfacturer the fuel consumption will be so so so good the engine is so powerful i like it i have honda civic 1.6 i c this engine is more powerful the interior is good and the design is great but the material is good but not excellent but in my opinion the material will fit the hot weather the 17 inch wheels is good and give more stability but the problem in the roads not in the car stability is good audio system is good it is infinity it is better than corolla because corolla gear is very bad and have alot of problems and againist lancer cerato still the champ also same material like the lancer from inside aganist tiida don`t even try to compare so if u wanna buy it go on do not hesitate it is so so so so nice car ciao

Mmmmm , Hi all i have bought my new kia cerato Si from Kia Agent in cairo, Egypt, and will give you some hints about it, first im a american & japanees car rider so it maybe effect on my judgment on my cerato.
First my car features:
outside it coms with 17′ alloy wheels and parking sensors, fog lights , heated merrors
inside coms with steering wheel audio control, electronic AC & merrors and all other standered options

The car style is awsom from outside and inside, i can see the luxury everywhere but the material is not that much good as much as japanees and american interior.

2 thigs i hate in cerato ..
1- fule consumption is realy high in my automatic transmition vs manual

2 – its a little bit tuff on the road, i can feel every thing on the road inside the cabin

overall the car with that cost is awsom and deserve to own it maybe i change my mind after my first 1000 km :P

DGS & Tony,

If I recall the Cerato is being tested for an LPG/Hybrid application, so no need for the turbo diesel. LPG being cheap and plentiful in Australia combined with the Electric motor should give good performance and cheap running costs. If they can bring this out here Kia will have a winner.

This on top of their recent quality improvements could really turn the corner for the Koreans.

the kia cerato would be one of the best value for money cars on the market in 2009 i have a 2001 rio and hav,nt put a spanner on it just the normal service my daughter bought a 2008 rio and has not had a problem with it they have come such a long way kia and hyundai are finally changing people mindsand there are no fancy zoom zoom or oh what a over priced car ads

i have a feeling Kia may be playing their cards close to their chest

there’s a lot of rumours about future releases including the confirmed coupe and a 5 door hatchback (like the old 626/telstar)

it would be easy to slot in their 1.6 CRDi as used in the i30 and the Soul. But I fear it will be priced well high like the Soul.

Everyone has said the 1.6 petrol Soul is a case of too much engine, not enough car and the diesel transforms it.

However it’s also $26k. So I would imagine Kia would price the diesel accordingly so expect a $26k diesel Cerato AT LEAST just like how much Ford charge for the diesel Focus.

It’s not that the diesel costs so much more to make… it’s just volume isn’t there in this country.

Any one know if they are going to sell these with the Hyundai/Kia 1.6 Turbo Diesel as used in the i30 and Soul?

Its a shame there are no small TD sedans avalable from Hyundai/Kia, if you want diesel, you must have hatch.

Holden(Daewoo) are about to release a TD sedan in there cruze range.

If the 1.6 TD is adiquate for the mass of the Cerato it could give Kia an aditional sales boost in regional Australia.

I actually reckon that with the exception of the bits’n'pieces look of the Sportage, Kia’s offerings look a lot better than Parent Companies vehicles.(But remember looks are subjective)

No doubt this is a step forward for Kia but they started of a low base. Not quite in Corolla league yet.Once Kia convinces enough people that their pruduct is on par with Toyota ,Honda and other big players they will start to charge same prices. Than you will have Samsung and LG vs Panasonic or Sony situation. I always pick the latter.

Looks great IMO,only 2 issues with mine (S model with the option pack auto, in Blue of course) 4 spd auto annoys me as i do drive in tiptronic i will have to downshift when approaching a large hill and also the tyres that i received with the vehicle are horrible and i will be changing them asap. Other then those two issues i am pleased with my first car, brother also has a lancer but imo mine looks better and more of a comfortable ride and interior is a bit bland on the lancer. Best feature the usb port works with any usb, tried phone didnt work

Korean cars have come a long way, I’d take a Korean car over a boring Japanese car like a Corolla any day.

The new wave of Korean cars like the Hyundai i30, Kia Cerato and Holden Cruze are quality small cars selling like hot cakes.

Very Good Car. Holden Cruze is better.Interior is a hit & miss.Centre stack is sorta all over the place.Exterior very attractive.Better than a Corolla anyday. Idk how Corolla sells.

Look at the back lights of Cerato & Look at back lights of Holden Cruze.Look the same? Bit of Kia copying Holden there.Cheeky Cheeky.

Anyway a great car.It’s underrated & deserves more credit for what it is.Interesting to see the long term road tests.Sales should pick up soon hopfully.

Salesman, lots of cars have external boot latches that are operative when the car is unlocked!! Quite normal these days and far more secure than the lever on the floor.
