Infiniti ESQ revealed: luxury Juke for China uncovered

The Infiniti ESQ is a new China-only model that is, put simply, a rebadged Nissan Juke.

The ESQ was teased months ago by the Japanese luxury car brand, and now a batch of official images show just what Infiniti has done to make its version of the Juke appear more luxury-focused.

There are revised bumpers and a body kit with integrated matt silver trimming, new alloy wheels, a revised grille design and prominent ESQ and Infiniti badges front and rear.

The car is essentially a new version of the Nissan Juke Nismo (not sold in Australia), with the ESQ offered with a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated exclusively to a CVT automatic. The little turbo unit pumps out 147kW of power and 250Nm, with the grunt sent to all four wheels. The most powerful Jukes sold here, the ST-S and Ti-S versions, produce 140kW/240Nm.

Inside, there are revised materials and an Infiniti steering wheel, though it looks overwhelmingly similar to the standard Juke.
