Ok, wow...we have at least 24 GUYS who have posted here. Mmm guys, 70 percent of the marketing for this car was directed at women.

So, I'm a girl and I'm a rev head and I say this car is good value for money. It's not perfect without the curtain airbags but it's really not a bad design inside and out with the tiny budget.
It's actually nice that someone in the car market has thought of us women.

From the little handy storage ideas to the colour pink and regardless of cost-cutting (which is a given in this category) at least it's put together by the Japanese. Thank you Nissan!

Why would guys who call themselves FASTHONDA and FALCODORE think that this car was in any way designed to appeal to them. I rest my case.

The Micra is a cute girlie car, but remember its just months away from being axed and a new superior replacement Micra is on the way.

Something to consider, they could start doing run-out deals any time soon.

My advice, buy a demo year or old and you can save $4/5k, they get hammered on the 2nd hand market.

Remember they are made in UK, not Japan

Great maneuvers, small car, great space for my work stuff, great space for my 2 boys, great value, economical fuel efficiency, unique looking, safe to drive in the busy street and even in a freeway, lots of small storage that within reach of my hand.. what else??? I think it's wonderful... I have to go to the dealer this week and have a test drive... Looking forward and excited to get what I really need - A reliable and easy to drive car!

I'm planning to get a new car and really going for an endless search.

These past years I think it's been always the same for new small cars, let we say Yaris, Mazda 2, Barina to Peugeot etc. I must say I love to buy a Peugeot 206 because of all the safety features, size and durability (maybe) of it and as you could see it's such a good looking car!

THEN... I found out about this car. I must admit it puts me off first about the look of the car, but once you get to look at it's features - exterior to interior (it's just great!) for me it's my dream car in a very great price!

When I look at the car again... I thought it's not really that bad at all!! Honestly it's stand from the crowd of being always the same... very unique look and user friendly (especially for me that I'm about to get my P's)! This car suite what I need for my life style.

I MUST GET IT!

My sister loves this car to death, finds it really cute, but overall, it's a a few notches down compared to the likes of Jazz, Yaris, 2 and Fiesta. A replacement model should be out next year and hopefully they dis the 4-speed in favour of a CVT.

My wife bought one of these Micras rececently Gotta laugh at the comments that its a crap car. Have they actually driven it? Sure its styling is a bit different. However is that bad? Too many cars look the same as each other nowdays.

In the city I would challenge anyone to suggest any car is any better. Its zippy, manoverable, has good visibility all around, is visible, has good steering and handling and is easy to park.

Those that whinge about the seat belts in the back.... how many people actually drive these cars with more than two people in them?

I personally don't really like the styling but to be honest I don't give a sh!t about styling.

Rose, good review but I think it's a little unfair to put highway feel as a minus. Considering that Nissan ad campaign was "Cities Love Micra".

Just to say, this car actually has a four star crash rating. The three star rating is for the base model, the City Collection model has extra airbags thus getting a higher score. Still not up to scratch but then it is seven years old and at the time it was as safe as a supermini could get.

Paul Doubya, do you have any idea what you're talking about? The Micra has fantastic reliability! It rates highly in reliability tests and if you go to user review websites, hardly anybody has a bad thing to say about them. Renault components are actually pretty high quality. The latest models have been doing really well in reliability stakes.

Why does everybody have such a problem with this car? OK, you may not like the looks, can't say I'm a fan either but it's a good car and a good alternative. For a seven year old model, it's doing pretty well considering that it doesn't feel that dated and safety is pretty good when you buy the City Collection model. It also has something that so fewer Japanese cars have: character. The Mazda 2 is just dull, the Yaris really feels mass produced and the Swift was never class leader. The Micra deserves sales.
I could understand peoples hatred of it if it was expensive, bad quality, terrible to drive and completely impractical but the fact is that it's cheap, pretty good quality, good to drive considering it's a 1.4 with a four speed auto and it has massive amounts of space. It's a good car, just because it's ugly doesn't mean one should discount it as terrible and one of the worst thing to ever happen to the motoring world.

One of the few Nissans meeting sales targets and selling well thanks in large part to its great value argument, but it should have been released here years ago, along with the Note. Not a bad car for it's age, although looks understandably polarise.

Here we go all the macho types wading in here saying its a crap car, no good, dangerous etc. For gods aske it's a good seller, Even Jake02 who slags it off has noticed there are a fleet of them around where he lives. Its a town car for townies with little engine capable of wizzing down motorways at 120 kays on the odd occasion. The stupid jerks above obviously dearly want it to have V6 performance as usual!!
I have not driven a Micra but have a Nissan Note (UK)not a disimilar car and do accept the point made about faster driving and feel on the road. This is where bigger cars always feel more capable.

Joke car. Why even think about it when you can have an equally impractible but much better driving and better looking Mazda2 or Suzuki Swift?
